Join GWEC and Ingeteam for a one-hour live webcast on April 26

Register now to hear about the highlights from GWEC's Global Market Report and how technology can optimise the energy mix for renewables!

Thursday, 26 April, 3pm CEST
15:00 Brussels | 09:00 Washington D.C. | 21:00 Beijing

Join the one-hour live webcast moderated by GWEC’s Secretary General, Steve Sawyer, who will take you through the key highlights from their flagship publication. Steve will be joined on the webcast by Javier San Miguel Armendariz, Global Wind Sales Director at Ingeteam, who will focus on how new technology can optimise the energy mix for any particular combination of renewable sources, provided the proper fiscal and regulatory frameworks are in place.

GWEC’s flagship publication is the industry’s most widely read and is referred to as the wind industry’s most credible source of data. This 60-page Global Wind Report will provide a comprehensive snapshot of the global wind industry now present in more than 90 countries, 30 of which have more than 1,000 MW installed, and a further 9 with more than 10,000 MW. This year’s edition will include insights into the 20 top wind markets across the world, with a feature chapter on new and emerging markets, a five-year market forecast out to 2022, a chapter on the global offshore wind market and much more.

Join us to hear about:

  • What are the prospects for the global wind industry up to 2022?
  • What are the key markets driving global growth?
  • Where are the new wind ‘hot spots’ likely to be located?
  • What’s the current status of the offshore wind market globally?
  • How technology can optimise the energy mix for renewables.

We hope you can join this free webcast and encourage you to participate with your questions and comments.

 SPEAKERS:

Steve Sawyer, Secretary General of GWEC, has worked in the energy and environment field since 1978, with a particular focus on climate change and renewable energy since 1988. He spent many years working for Greenpeace International, representing the organization at intergovernmental and industry fora primarily on energy and climate issues. At GWEC he is focused on working with intergovernmental organisations such as the UNFCCC, IPCC, IRENA, IEA, IFC and ADB to ensure that wind power takes its rightful place in the energy options for the future; and with opening up new markets for the industry worldwide.

Javier San Miguel Armendariz, Global Wind Sales Director of Ingeteam, is a chartered Industrial Engineer by the Public University of Navarra BEng (Hons) Power Systems by Staffordshire University and MPhil (Q) in Power Electronics from Birmingham University. Javier's career beginnings always had a multidisciplinary scope in a wide range of international energy transformation projects, from naval propulsion to railway traction systems or conventional generation. From the turn of the Millennium, he focused on renewables with a wind technology transfer from Germany to the UK. Back in Spain, Javier dedicated ten years to opening new markets and finding synergic innovation opportunities for the technical developments and services of the Spanish Renewable Energy Center (CENER). Currently, he is dedicated to commercializing Ingeteam Wind Power Conversion Systems with a global scope.
