Shipyards

Water management in shipbuilding is critical and must be addressed proactively to avoid unnecessary leaks and damage. This involves controlling the amount of incoming and outgoing water, as well as its treatment. This can be achieved through the use of various techniques, such as the installation of weirs, channels and outfall pipes, which allow the flow of water to be controlled.

This requires the use of pumping systems to extract and drain water from docks, canals and harbors. This is done to keep the area dry during shipbuilding works, and to prevent the accumulation of stagnant water, which can cause damage to the structure and equipment.

Pumping is also used to pump water from docks to water tanks for use in shipyards. Pumping systems can be used to move water, sludge, sewage sludge, sewage and other liquids from one location to another. These systems can also be used to pump water from docks to a storage tank for use in electric power production.
