Ingeteam consolidates its presence in Chile with a supply that will provide energy to some 170,000 households

  • Ingeteam has started manufacturing 164 photovoltaic inverters, which will be delivered this year to the Gran Teno and Tamango plants.
  • Both plants are expected to be commissioned in the coming months and will contribute to reducing annual CO2 emissions by more than 175,000 tons.

  • After more than 10 years in the country, the company has strengthened its position as a technology partner with equipment supplied to more than 60 solar plants.

Ingeteam will supply 164 solar photovoltaic inverters to Grenergy for the Gran Teno and Tamango photovoltaic projects. The projects, which will be commissioned in the coming months, will generate clean energy to supply around 170,000 Chilean households, as well as contributing to the reduction of annual CO2 emissions by more than 175,000 tons.

In its role as technology partner, Ingeteam will be responsible for the supply of specialized state-of-the-art components. Specifically, 136 inverters will be supplied for the Gran Teno plant and 28 for the Tamango plant, distributed among 41 transformer stations, which will be delivered as a turnkey solution ready for installation. The agreement between the two companies also includes the supply of the control system and the commissioning of the equipment.

According to the commercial director of Ingeteam's photovoltaic business, Jesús Echarte, "Chile is one of the countries with the greatest projection in Latin America and is contributing enormously to the decarbonization process of its energy matrix. We have a strong presence of local personnel dedicated to operation and maintenance tasks". Since Ingeteam landed in the country more than 10 years ago, it has experienced unstoppable growth. To date, it has supplied its photovoltaic inverters to 66 photovoltaic plants and to such emblematic projects as Malgarida, San Pedro, Granja Solar, Amanecer Solar, Quilapilún, Quillagua, La Javiera or Usya.
