WIEN METRO : INGEBER PROJECT ACCOMPLISHED

We have completed the project of installing an INGEBER energy recovery system on Wien Metro.

The system installed for energy recovery on the U2 line has been under trials for 6 months with good results.  Since autumn 2016, the system on the underground network makes better use of braking energy, enabling it to be fed into Wiener Linien’s medium-voltage network.

INGETEAM is leading this market with INGEBER technology.

The system incorporates a double converter connected to the catenary, in parallel with the substation’s rectifier to the existing transformer.
The system is constantly monitoring the state of the catenary, converting recoverable energy into high quality AC power and subsequently injecting it to the general three-phase grid.

Moreover, the system also controls the three-phase grid’s harmonics, that act as an active front, allowing for a reversible action to provide energy to the catenary during power consumption peaks, with quality power consumption for the AC grid.
