Ingeteam presents its latest developments in sensorless speed controls for induction motors

Ingeteam has presented its breakthroughs in Sensorless control algorithms (without speed measurement feedback) in the EPE2019 ECCE Europe conference, held in Genova from 3 to 5 of September. This work has been the fruit of collaboration with the UPV/EHU within the framework of a Final Degree Project by Iker Peña.

These types of algorithms allow motor control without real speed measurement in applications for different sectors such as Marine, Industry, Traction or Electro Mobility. The challenge / difficulty lies in achieving optimum performance when the engine speed is low.

The project presented under the title [Scalar / Vector Sensorless Control Combination Solution for Induction Motor Drives at Whole Speed Range Operation] offers a novel solution to operate at low speeds with induction machines, allowing to apply this type of control strategies in numerous applications. These advances in control algorithms have begun to be implemented in the INGEDRIVE™ range of converters.

The INGEDRIVE™ product range is available with powers of up to 44 MVA, 400V to 690V at low voltage and 3 kV to 6.9 kV at medium voltage, offering a high level of performance and reliability, together with an easy interface use.
