UK colleagues ready to react in case of emergency

In coordination with the client, several teams of wind power technicians in UK have tested the emergency and rescue plan from the different wind farms carrying out emergency drills.

As in previous years, during the last few weeks the Ingeteam UK Wind technicians together with the client tested the emergency and rescue plan from the different wind farms carrying out emergency drills.

The emergency drills consisted of the first aid provision and evacuation of a casualty (a dummy) from a wind turbine. The Ingeteam technicians reported the emergency and enacted the emergency and rescue plan using the relevant first aid and rescue equipment to obtain a quick and safe response to evacuate the casualty. Once on the ground, the emergency services (simulated by the client) has been able to provide the necessary medical services to the casualty.

The result of these emergency drills were very positive. The response from the technicians has been quick and correct and the rescue plan works properly. Also, as one of the main goals of this drills, several improvement points and learning lessons has been found and are going to be implemented from now on.

This emergency drill allowed Ingeteam together with the client to improve the emergency and rescue plan, and gave confidence to the technicians in order to react in case of emergency.
