- Ingeteam will supply 14 electric traction converters to Polish rolling stock manufacturer PESA.
- The equipment, designed and manufactured by INGETEAM, will be installed in 7 vehicles to operate in Czech Republic.
- Manufacturing will take place on the Group´s converter facility in Ortuella (Bizkaia).
Ingeteam has obtained a new contract to design and supply traction equipment for 7 multi-voltage (3kV DC/25kV 50 Hz AC) electric multiple units, manufactured by PESA (Poland). The vehicles will operate on Ústecký Kraj (Czech Republic) regional transport and will have capacity for 110 passengers. They will operate at maximum speed of 160 km/h and are 53 metres-long.
Ingeteam has supplied traction systems for more than 150 EMUs up- to- date.
The supply includes 14 traction converters, located on the roof, based on the INGETRAC medium power solution, and auxiliary equipment. The solution chosen is based on the 3-level technology on the line side (AFE) and on the motor side. This arrangement has been chosen to meet challenging requirements of this project and to optimize the converter´s modular design, maximizing energy efficiency while minimizing space needed. To simplify maintenance activities, new diagnosis tools have also been included.
Lately, Ingeteam has done an innovation effort on traction solutions for multi-voltage vehicles that will be reinforced with this supply. The Company forecasts to supply first units during 1st quarter 2021. The manufacturing will take place at the converter´s plant in Ortuella (Bizkaia, Spain) factory, inaugurated in 2019.
