The INGESYS IC2 solution has been selected for the automation of the buffet cars of 24 Hitachi trains which cover the TransPennine Express line which runs between the north of England and Scotland.
The function of INGESYSTM IC2 is to control and monitor the different buffet car elements manufactured by the company KELOX. These elements consist of the cold refrigeration system, the water system, coffee machines, microwave, water heater and lighting.
The automation solution based on INGESYSTM IC2, is composed of a central unit with local I/Os and a remote CAN with distributed I/Os. The controller is integrated into train’s Ethernet for maintenance tasks. A system or permissions based on different user profiles regulates access to the PLC’s information from local HMIs or from the main computer using the embedded web server in INGESYSTM IC2.
The INGESYSTM IC2 system is the control solution designed by Ingeteam specifically for controlling train subsystems and low-cost VCUs.
Its main characteristics are as follows:
- Modular, configurable internal structure in terms of I/Os and communication interfaces, which enables it to be adapted to a wide range of applications.
- Programmable using IEC61131 and C/C++ languages.
- Embedded web server for diagnostics and monitoring tasks.
- Wide range of input/output modules specific to the sector (digital and analog inputs/outputs, relay outputs, brushless motor control, audio message module, accelerometer input modules, IEPE, etc.).
- Incorporates the main communication buses used in the railway sector (RS232/485, CAN, MVB, Profibus, Ethernet TCP/IP, TRDP, EthernetIP, CIP, IPTCOM, etc.)
- Complies with EN50155 and EN45545-2 standards.
