Supplies for the Uzbekistan high speed trains

The traction division participated in the Talgo project which involves the supply of High Speed trains for the Tashkent-Samarkanda line, in Uzbekistan.  Ingeteam’s supply includes the engineering of the electrical system, the traction chain equipment, battery chargers, control systems and high voltage switchgear.

The principal items of this supply are the traction converters (2 per traction head), which power the traction motor and 3 auxiliary converters.   An important highlight of this supply is the design’s modular configuration, making available more space in the train to fit additional passenger seats.
The electronic control, also developed and supplied by Ingeteam, was adapted to comply with the country’s signalling and communications regulations.

The trains
The trains will circulate at a maximum speed of 250 km/h to cover a 344 km trajectory, between Tashkent and the historic city of Samarkanda, in less than 2 hours. Their design has been adapted to fit the 1,520 mm track gauge and the catenary voltage is of 25 kV ac 50 HZ.
The company’s commissioning teams on site at Tashkent, since last summer, are also training the customer’s personnel to carry out maintenance.
