Iberdrola signs an agreement with Ingeteam to promote solar PV generation amongst its customers

Iberdrola has signed an agreement with Ingeteam, to promote the Smart Solar Iberdrola integrated solution, which the company has launched for its customers. This solution offers the possibility of own electricity generation and consumption through the installation of PV technology.

Raquel Blanco, the Iberdrola director of Efficiency and Energy Services, and Juan Carlos Jadraque, the Ingeteam Solar PV Area director, were present at the signing ceremony which was held at Iberdrola's headquarters in Bilbao.

Through this agreement, which is to have an initial term of one year with the possibility of an extension, Ingeteam is to supply equipment to Iberdrola, including PV inverters, battery inverters, energy management systems, accessories and communications software, suitable for incorporating into any type of PV installation.

Furthermore, both companies have agreed to collaborate in the development of the services provided by Iberdrola to its customers, either through its website or mobile and tablet apps, based on the information gathered by the Ingeteam equipment. Likewise, both companies will work hand-in-hand to disseminate and improve the procedures for the installation and commissioning of the above mentioned equipment by the Iberdrola-approved installers.

Additionally, both companies are to work in collaboration with a view to integrating new functionalities into the Ingeteam e-vehicle charging stations coming within the Iberdrola Charging Station Management System.

Ingeteam is a company specialising in the design of power and control electronics, electric machines, electrical engineering and power generation plants. It has extensive experience in the supply of equipment and the provision of technical support services to large PV plants and also to self-consumption systems with energy storage systems.

This company, of Basque origin, is one Iberdrola's major suppliers. For the last fifteen years, it has been carrying out work for the Iberdrola Group's Network, Liberalised, Renewables and Engineering businesses in Spain and also in other countries around the world. Over the last decade, Ingeteam's turnover with Iberdrola has amounted to some 100 million euros.

Smart Solar Iberdrola integrated solution

With this new commercial product, Iberdrola is offering its customers an integrated package which includes the design, installation and commissioning of a fully-customised PV system, in addition to a finance plan, advice, comprehensive maintenance, and system management and supervision through web tools and innovative apps. Likewise, the company offers all the backup energy that may be required.

Iberdrola's turnkey solution will give home-owners, SMEs, irrigation users and large companies a no-obligation opportunity to determine whether solar power is an effective alternative for their needs.  If so, they will be able to generate and consume their own electricity, thereby optimising consumption and improving the energy efficiency of their system.

In this way, by venturing into the area of personalised advice to customers, the company is clearly showing that its dedication to service goes beyond the mere supply of energy.  With its innovative proposals for PV producers and for all those customers who would like to make the sun their main source of energy, Iberdrola is set on continuing to be one of the driving forces behind a change of energy model, just as it did 15 years' ago with its pioneering commitment to wind power.
