The largest solar plant in Oceania is operating with Ingeteam inverters

The Royalla Solar Farm, the largest PV plant in Oceania is now operating with Ingeteam's medium voltage power stations. This plant, with a 20 MW rated power output, is the property of FRV (Fotowatio Renewable Ventures) and is located 23 kilometres south of Canberra, the capital city of Australia. The solar farm, occupying almost 50 hectares, was recently opened by the Australian Capital Territory Energy Minister, Simon Corbell, together with the Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, José Manuel García-Margallo. Other important persons were also present at the ceremony, such as the Spanish ambassador for Australia, Mr Enrique Viguera.

Thanks to the twenty, 1 MW PowerMax inverters installed inside ten medium voltage power stations, this PV plant will be able to supply power to some 4,500 Australian homes. Ingeteam started to supply its power stations in mid September 2013.

Juan Miguel Gutiérrez, Manager of Ingeteam's Australian subsidiary and who was also present at the opening, declared that the "Royalla plant is a major milestone for Australia and we're thrilled that our technology has contributed to the success of this project. What's more, we have every confidence that many more plants will be developed in this country, which has tremendous potential in the field of renewable energies, and PV solar energy in particular".

Ingeteam will be at the All Energy 2014 fair in Australia. Stand 2317

In its commitment to this emerging market, Ingeteam is to showcase its PV inverters at the major renewable energy trade fair in Australia: All Energy 2014. Ingeteam will be at stand 2317 at this fair, which is to be held in Melbourne on the 15th and 16th October, where the company is to showcase the INGECON SUN PowerMax, which is the model installed at Royalla. Visitors will also get the opportunity to see the 1Play (2.5-6 kW) string inverters and the 3Play (10-20 kW) inverters, which are single phase and three phase respectively. With regard to hybrid installations, Ingeteam is to showcase the INGECON HYBRID AC Link single phase inverter. What's more, visitors to the fair will also get the chance to see the INGEREV GARAGE Basic, the new electric vehicle charging station designed for private use.

In 2013 Ingeteam also opened a subsidiary located in the technology centre in the town of Wollongong, to the south of Sydney. Being close to Canberra, this new subsidiary is within easy reach of the country's major PV plants.

Thanks to the opening of Ingeteam's new subsidiary, this Spanish company expects to grow its business in other sectors in which it also has a long-standing history such as the services, marine, industrial or railway sectors.

The PV inverters installed at Royalla

The PowerMax 1MW INGECON® SUN 1000TL M400 PV inverters are at the forefront of the market for central inverters. With a maximum efficiency of 99.1% and a multi-MPPT configuration, these transformerless inverters are designed to obtain maximum performance at large PV plants. They are capable of delivering their maximum power output up to an ambient temperature of 45 ºC whilst contributing to the quality and stability of the electricity system due to their low voltage ride-through capability and the possibility of delivering reactive power even at night.

The twenty central inverters have been supplied inside ten Power Stations. These shelters are fitted with all the necessary equipment to transform low voltage to medium voltage: two PV inverters, LV/MV transformer, MV cells, auxiliary services switchgear and all the necessary protections. These 40 foot long containers are equipped with an advanced, forced ventilation cooling system and a set of filters to prevent the ingress of water and particles.

To date, Ingeteam has supplied more than 4 GW to its customers, confirming its position as one of the world's leading inverter manufacturers.
