Ingeteam has completed the retrofit works for ACSM (Vigo, Spain) for the fishery research vessel “Vizconde de Eza” owned by the Spanish Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine affairs.
The scope of works had been related to engineering, supply and commissioning of the new-generation frequency converters INGEDRIVE LV400 for regulation of the propulsion motors manufactured by INDAR, combined with a new propulsion control system INGESHIP PCS based on a last generation PLC.
The vessel was built in 2000 and since then it has carried out more than 100 research campaigns. With an overall length of 53 meters and the width of 13 meters, it continues to be one of the most sophisticated research vessels in the world. Its dynamic positioning system allows it to remain absolutely still without moving its position, despite adverse meteorological conditions. Its special design and diesel-electric propulsion system guarantees silent maneuvering, allowing the gathering of acoustic data without vibration or noise.
We thank ACSM shipyard for trusting in Ingeteam and we are looking forward to working together on upcoming projects!
