The Vice Councillor of Industry and Energy of the Basque Government visited Ingeteam’s new premises in the United States.

The Vice Councillor of Industry and Energy of the Basque Government, Xabier Garmendia, the Director of the Basque Energy Board (EVE - Ente Vasco de Energia), José Ignacio Hormaeche, as well as the Chambers of Commerce of Bilbao, Gipuzkoa and Araba and the members of the Energy Cluster (Clúster de Energía), visited the premises of Ingeteam Inc., in Milwaukee (USA), within the framework of their Basque Government’s commercial and business mission to the east coast of the United States.

During their visit to the plant they witnessed, firsthand, the commissioning of the first wind converter units and the progress of the layout works of the wind converters, as well as the solar photovoltaic converters (inverters) manufacturing plant. For the company the opening of Ingeteam Inc involved an investment of more than 12 million euros.

The company’s activity focuses mainly on the energy sector, the manufacturing of wind turbines and wind power converters, as well as photovoltaic inverters, to cover the needs of the North American market. Ingeteam Inc. currently employs more than 50 workers.

The new plant will be in a position to manufacture equipment for the equivalent of 7.500 MW per year, thus catering for all Ingeteam customers’ needs in that country. In these facilities several ranges of converter-generator products are manufactured, covering power ranges of between 1.5 and 5 MW, for wind energy applications.  For the solar photovoltaic market, the production of converters (inverters) will cover power ranges of between 2.5 to 500 KW.
