Ingeteam supplies Dataloggers for Wiener Linien

  • Dataloggers will be used throughout the V-Zug fleet
  • These devices collect the information from the MVB bus in the metro and send it to Wiener Linien headquarters

Wiener Linien, considered one of the most efficient public transport systems in the world, has chosen Ingeteam equipment to improve its predictive maintenance functions across its V-Zug fleets. The incorporation of these devices, which have been on the market for just over a year, will allow them to anticipate any type of technical failure in the metro subsystems connected to the communication bus , enabling cost reduction and avoiding service interruptions.

So far, five sets have been installed on five metros and are in the testing phase. The facility will subsequently be expanded by another 61 light meters until the first fleet is completed next year.

The Dataloggers collect information from the metro MVB bus and send it to Wiener Linien headquarters, allowing the customer to carry out predictive maintenance thanks to the information received. The control room is centralized in the line 3 depot, where all data is automatically processed and provided for the maintenance staff just in time.

This is the first time that Ingeteam has installed its predictive maintenance solution in this transport network, although within railway monitoring the company has also participated in a project to monitor vibrations in the axle boxes of high-speed trains.

Among Ingeteam's most valued characteristics are its commitment to in-house production, which allows it to offer absolute flexibility, and compliance with SL2 cybersecurity parameters.
