Ingeteam certifies voltage sensors with PLC couplers for their supply to Iberdrola's STAR project

Ingeteam has gained certification for its voltage sensors with PLC (Power Line Carrier) couplers, model PGR24/10K, within the framework of Iberdrola's STAR (network telecontrol and automation system) project.

These sensors combine an EN 61869-3:2011-compliant Class 1 medium voltage stage up to 20kV with a communications stage prepared for transmission/reception in the frequency range between 1-30MHz with insertion losses better than 4dB in the functioning range between 2-30MHz.

These voltage sensors are designed to be installed in gas insulated switchgear (GIS). The PGR24/10K sensors constitute an alternative to voltage transformers of the same class normally used to monitor voltage, with the advantage of occupying less space and being more competitively priced.

The certification of the PGR24/10K sensors will enable Ingeteam to increase its presence in Iberdrola's smart grid portfolio, where it is currently supplying RTU’s with medium-voltage fault bypass detection and medium voltage sensors for supervising and automating MV overhead and underground grids.

This milestone reinforces Ingeteam's commitment to developing innovative solutions in the field of smart grids and validates the flexibility of its R&D department to adapt itself to the needs of its clients.
