Ingeteam is taking part in the largest PV greenhouse in the world

Ingeteam has provided its PV inverters for the largest PV greenhouse in the world, located in Cerdeña. Specifically, it has supplied a total of fourteen 1.6 Megawatt sub-stations, containing a total of 28 Ingecon Sun PowerMax inverters. This equipment is compliant with the strictest international regulations and can adapt to suit all the power outputs at the solar parks.

The Su Scioffu PV greenhouse is located close to the capital city of the island, with a power output of 20 Megawatts. These facilities, stretching across more than 100,000 square metres, which is equivalent to more than 10 football pitches, are to be dedicated to the production of agricultural crops, on the one hand, and to renewable energy on the other. It will therefore be possible to cover the energy requirements of 10,000 homes all year round.

It should be highlighted that this PV plant is also extremely environmentally friendly, given the fact that it will guarantee a reduction of 25,000 tons per year of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

In addition to its surface area and the reduction in CO2 emissions, this PV greenhouse has also set other records, namely the execution and implementation time. Just four months were required to construct and connect the 134 greenhouses and 84,400 polycrystalline silicon panels forming part of this large plant.

In the opinion of Stefano Domenicali, the Managing Director of Ingeteam Italy, “the fact that we have been selected to carry out this project, set to make history in Italy due to its size and its impact on the land, is clear recognition of the quality of our products”.
Furthermore, it should be emphasised that, with this installation, Ingeteam Italy has supplied more than 70 MW of power in the last quarter of 2011, and the number of international partners with which the company is collaborating has also increased.
