Successful commissioning of medium voltage mill drives for grinding circuit in Australia

In the first quarter of 2017, Ingeteam successfully carried out the hot commissioning of the MV variable speed drives for the Mungana Mine Grinding Mills. This mine contains the following minerals: zinc, lead, copper and gold. The Mungana mine is located in Australia, Far North Queensland.

In the third quarter of 2016, Ingeteam was awarded the main drive package from the main contractor GR Engineering Services. Ingeteam’s scope of supply contains the complete portable electrical room including three INGEDRIVE MV700 medium-voltage variable speed drives and two excitation units for feeding the synchronous electrical motors of the SAG mill and the ball mill as well as one induction machine feeding a HIG mill (Vertical Regrind Mill).

The project had a tight execution schedule and the complete process plant was commissioned and put into operation in the second quarter of 2017.

INGEDRIVE is available with power ratings up to 44 MVA, from 400V to 690V in low voltage and 3 kV to 6.9 kV in medium voltage, offering great performance, reliability, together with a user-friendly interface.
