The birth of Ingeteam came about as a result of the founding of Team (Técnica Electrónica de Automatismo y Medida) in 1972, and Ingelectric in 1974.
From the very beginning these companies grew side by side, with a philosophy based on in-house technology by investing in research and development directed at the industry and energy sectors.
Team developed devices for electrical quantity measurement and equipment for process automation and control of electrical machines.
On the other hand Ingelectric provided application engineering, including the turnkey supply of electrical equipment and complete automation and control systems.
During the '80 Ingeteam strengthened its position in the industrial and energy sectors as a leading supplier. We obtained significant references as providers of control processes, for the European industry, due to our dedication and continuous technological development policy.
In the ’90 we strengthened our position in the market as providers of electrical and control systems for the renewable energy area and began our worldwide expansion.
With the incorporation of Pine we were able to cater for the design and build electrical equipment and consequently execute high and low voltage installations and erections. In 1940 Indar, a manufacturer of rotating electrical equipment (motors, generators and electro-pump sets) joined the group.
The new Indar adopted then Ingeteam's work philosophy, by providing a strong backup to its technical and R&D+i department and at the same time making use of the know-how gathered over more then 60 years of existence.
During this decade we equipped Ingeteam with the capacity to develop and execute complete hydroelectric power generation plants of up to 40MW and gathered vast references in both the local and international market.
In the first decade of the 21st century we began providing services to the marine sector. Backed by our vast experience in electrical installations, generators and electrical marine motors we made available to the market diesel-electric propulsion and automation process specifically designed to special vessels.
We actively contribute towards the renewable energy development, taking place in recent years, by constantly innovating and making available to the market new wind generation systems as well as electronic equipment for photovoltaic generation plants.
The railway electrical traction is another field where our Group has developed power and control electrical equipment. This equipment has been installed in railway tracks, locomotives and other types of vehicles
One of our later incorporations is a company that is providing mechanical engineer and the supply of turnkey iron and steel plants. With this incorporation we go a step further in the outstanding track record we hold as an electrical automation supplier for this sector.
