Ingeteam opens new subsidiaries in Romania and the Philippines

With the opening of these two new subsidiaries in Romania and the Philippines, Ingeteam has increased its global presence to 17 countries in all five continents.

In Romania, the company is focussing its activity on the wind power sector and, more specifically, on wind farm maintenance, due to the great development potential in the renewables market there. Romania has an installed wind power of more than 3 GW and more than 500 MW in solar power. With its establishment in this country, Ingeteam is to provide Operation & Maintenance services for almost 400 MW, accounting for 12% of the country's total installed power. Against this background, the company decided to open a new subsidiary in this country, with head offices in Bucharest, and it plans to take on 35 people between 2015 and 2016.

On the other hand, the Philippines is one of the countries with the highest growth forecasts in South-East Asia. At the end of 2011, the country had an installed wind power of 33 MW, with plans for the installation of more than 500 MW by year 2020. This new subsidiary has led to the creation of local employment in the islands of Luzon, Guimaras and Panay, with the recruitment of some twenty new employees. Furthermore, Ingeteam has signed its first contract in the country, for the provision of Operation & Maintenance services for 174 MW, 68.5% of the country's installed power.
