The largest photovoltaic power plants in the United Kingdom use Ingeteam inverters
March 14, 2012
The three solar power plants, with an installed power of 5 MWp each, are located in the Cornwall County – on the southernmost point of Great Britain – more precisely in the parishes of Churchtown, East Langford and Manor. Any of the aforementioned are bigger than any other solar power plant in the entire British territory, and Ingeteam has contributed to their equipment.
The installed inverters, of the Ingecon® Sun Power Max family, have a rated power of 500 kW and offer a useful life of more than 20 years. This family of inverters has been specially designed for medium voltage applications, and are therefore suitable for large-scale photovoltaic power plants.
Due to this project, the Cornwall County is currently able to produce the largest amount of photovoltaic energy ever generated in the United Kingdom. This fact was confirmed by the AEA Energy Consultancy last September .
